Professional Tourist Guide/Expert in wine & food culture

As a member of the German National Tourist Guide Association (BVGD) I have a professional liability insurance and carry a qualification card for tourist guides. The adjoining guide button, a corresponding certificate and three stars on my card represent the highest level of education according to BVGD guidelines – the European standard for “professional tourist guides” (DIN EN 15565).

In 2003, I completed an extensive basic training for tourist guides with the local tourism institution CTW (see card below) and underwent further education as a guide for “Wine Experiences Franconia” as well as “Lecturer for wine and culinary culture”. Regular trainings on relevant topics are only natural.

As a freelance tourist guide for the Würzburg area and the Franconian wine country, I offer city and sightseeing tours, castle tours, museum tours, theme tours and day trips in German, English and Chinese – all competent and entertaining! The CTW card also entitles me to guided tours of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Residence” and the St. Kilian´s Cathedral.

What Würzburg & the Wine Country has to offer you…

It thrills me again and again, how much Würzburg has to offer: a baroque palace, a medieval fortress, monumental church buildings, the pittoresque Main river valley and a historic town amidst the vineyards! Usually I do two to three-hour city and theme tours with my visitors or half-day and day trips in the countryside.

Take a classic guided tour in the Old Town with St. Kilian’s Cathedral, St. Mary’s Chapel, Market Square, City Hall and the Old Bridge. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage “Residence palace”, the Fortress Marienberg, the Mainfränkisches Museum or the pilgrimage church Käppele. Sonja mit Touris vor St. Kilian auf Alter Mainbrücke

If you want to book special theme tours, I will guide you in the Rococo garden in Veitshöchheim, in the old Burkarderviertel or in the footsteps of Jewish Würzburg. Everywhere there are many – often hidden – places and monuments that tell us about exciting and curious things.

Or experience the Franconian wine capital Würzburg and the wine country with me – on foot or by car or bus: explore and experience impressive vineyards, modern wineries and impressive champagne cellars in the vicinity! All this does not have to remain theoretical …

I can also design individual wine and champagne seminars – for you as wine connoisseurs or as professionals. Talk to me and we will find a suitable solution for you and your friends or colleagues. (Photos: S. Wagenbrenner)
